I have always been in awe of those aviators who flew off the decks of these massive carriers. I read somewhere, from a study done during the Vietnam era, that their heart rates were higher during a night trap than during actual combat!! Attachments:

It was by far the best flying I have ever done. The window for being on glideslope at the ramp is about 20 inches square. Add to that that the E2 wingspan is 85 feet and the landing area is 92 feet wide with airplanes parked on both side and it puts a new meaning on "precision approach".
I really miss carrier flying. Can't say I miss living there, though!
