This morning, after I read this short article, I sat back in my desk chair and thought back into the early 1970's when, as a young flight instructor, I recall so many completely avoidable accidents, most all fatal, including a good friend of mine, and also including pilots that I at least knew casually... I remember PREACHING and POUNDING MY FISTS to my students. I can teach you to fly and fly well... I can help you along when you hit a snag in your studies... But I can't make decisions for you years down the road when the pressure is on to "get there", and other judgmental decisions that you must make as a pilot... And now, over 40 years later, the same exact thing is still one of, if not the major cause of "lack-of-sound go-no-go" judgment discipline... This is just a shame... www.avweb.com/news/safety/pilot_weather_flight_crash_cessna_208175-1.html
