Daily Grace by Bryan Chapell
He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. … For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Cor 12:9-10)
Some of the most encouraging words in all of Scripture are these: “God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it” (1 Cor 10:13).
No matter what the temptation, you can count on God to deliver on his promises to give you the strength to stand, or a way of escape! But Satan will try to convince you otherwise. He’ll tell you that these temptations are bigger than you.
But God’s promises destroy Satan’s lies. It’s not that the temptations are small or easy to resist. Yet God promises to you what he promised to the Apostle Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Prayer : Father, thank you for the promise that your grace is sufficient for me. When I face weaknesses and temptations, help me to rely on your power.
