Samaritan's Purse was asked to display our DC-8 at this year’s EAA - The Spirit of Aviation AirVenture #OSH21 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and since Monday, nearly 3,000 people toured the plane and one of our emergency field hospital set-ups to learn more about the work of Samaritan’s Purse. This aircraft came off the assembly line in 1968 and just before it was set to be turned into scrap parts in 2015, we purchased and refurbished it. This DC-8 allows us to respond to disasters quickly and bring life-saving aid and relief in Jesus’ Name. It has transported more than 5.6 million pounds of cargo and personnel on 147 missions since 2016, including the delivery of emergency field hospitals and relief supplies around the world. It is also one of only two of its kind still flying in the world. We thank God for being able to use aviation to make these missions possible.
