Repentance: A Radical Change of Life By Will Graham
Today’s culture says “if it feels good, do it,” “follow your heart” and “take pride in who you are.” But Christ followers are called to “godly sorrow” over their sin. After all, it’s our sin that drove Jesus to the cross.
To be truly repentant, our sin should break our hearts, just like it breaks the heart of God.
The Apostle Paul wrote the Corinthians, “Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. … For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation” (2 Corinthians 7:9–10).
My grandfather said something similar: “Repentance. Submission. Obedience. These are the steps we must take for God to fill us with His Spirit so we become more like Christ.” TODAY’S PRAYER
Heavenly Father, break my heart over any sinful thought or motive for which I need Your forgiveness. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
