Power in Knowing God
We sing songs about power. We tell others that there is “power in the blood.” We even call it “wonder-working power.” We are not unaware of all the deposits God has made into each of us, and so many believers today are so entirely powerless. Why is this so? It is in large part due to the disconnect we have between knowing God and experiencing His power. We’ve come to rely on what we know—our own efforts—and only get a taste of what God has gone to great lengths to provide for us. We enjoy our comfort zone, no matter how limiting that comfort zone actually is. Yet when we know God like He wants us to—when we experience Him as He wants to be experienced—the result is a spiritual power enabling you to overcome, resist, discern and much more. It is a spiritual power designed to equip you with all that you need for life and godliness. It exists to strengthen, restore, guide and inspire you. Without it, you are left to meander through life by the dim light of a candle or wick. With it, you have all you need to fully live out the abundant life Christ died to procure.
