Hello from Alaska
I have been here in Alaska now for two months. God's providence in our lives is evident and that is no exception for us this this summer. I have been helping Arctic Barnabas get their planes in good working order and am training three new pilots (two of which are new to the ministry. One will be here for two weeks and I will be working very intensely with him to learn Alaska and it’s varying terrain and weather patterns as well as the trickier places to get into. On that note I just completed my Multi Engine Instructor rating this afternoon which will help me in this endeavor, thank you all for praying for me in this new rating. In the next several weeks I will have a checkride for my CFII as well so I can fully train our pilots while I am here this summer.
There isn’t very much ministry flying as most villages here are very restrictive because of COVID, there isn’t good medical care in most villages and to get to hospitals it is a flight out of the village so the leadership in many villages have decided the best way to keep the disease at bay is to keep it out completely, thus closing the village to travel. I am using this opportunity that I didn’t know I would have to train Arctic Barnabas pilots to be safe in all their operations.
Thanks for your prayers and I look forward to the day when some of can meet sometime.
Blessings Paul Hadfield
