Because of my Victim Relief Ministries association I am always looking for books that will help me reach out to those in need. Boy, did I find a good one recently! This relatively quick read (141 pages) is just what many of us need as we struggle with our emotions dealing with past and/or current events that are causing us or loved ones pain, concern and doubt. I know for a fact that there is at least one PFC member that is dealing with a feeling of separation from our Lord right now as events seem to be spiraling out of control for him. This book has some really helpful answers to that question: “Where is God now that I really need Him?”
One chapter deals with forgiveness. Forgiveness for others and for ourselves. Those of you who know my story know that this was a major issue for me. The author’s words on this were a healing balm that I could have used all those years ago!
Low self-esteem, perfectionism, depression and healing for the helpers are other chapters. Whether you read this for help with your struggles or for reaching out to others, this book is a keeper!!
